News outlets often highlight the most intricate of hardships, sometimes making it feel impossible to help make things better. At Covenant Security Solutions, we often gauge our successes using baseball as a metaphor. Not every at-bat is a home run, and not every runner makes it all the way home, but every time we step up to the plate, we have an opportunity to positively impact the stat sheet. Focusing on small, consistent improvements, even marginal ones, eventually leads to wins.

Most of us are part of a community, and every community faces struggles. Every person faces struggles. When we view the struggles of our community as our own, we begin to see opportunities to improve the stat line. It could be as simple as picking up trash, or as meaningful as noticing someone in need and buying them a meal. Donating time at a shelter, or sharing a unique skill to brighten someone’s day, are all base hits that, over time, add up to runs and runs win games.

Over the next month, we will be highlighting people and groups within our community who are ushering in wins and helping to build a strong community team. There are great people all around us every day. By shining a spotlight on their contributions, we hope to be inspired, and to inspire others, to keep adding to the stat line.
