Highlighting Sisters RISE in Unity: Serving the Community Through Faith and Action

At Covenant Security Solutions, community is at the heart of what we do. Earlier this year, our team had the privilege of volunteering at the inaugural Lunches of Love event, a heartfelt initiative led by Sisters RISE in Unity, a nonprofit founded by Carla Vaughn.

The Story Behind Sisters RISE

Sisters RISE (Radiate, Inspire, Serve, and Empower) in Unity, Inc. was born from Carla’s calling to strengthen community bonds following Hurricane Milton. What began as a personal desire to help during emergencies quickly grew into a faith-driven mission to uplift women and serve those in need.

“It is my hope and desire that the sharing of knowledge and gifts will encourage others, while glorifying and exuding the love of God.  My love for Christ is what motivates me to keep going,” Carla shared.

Empowering Women and Strengthening Communities

Since its founding, Sisters RISE has already hosted three major initiatives:

  • Soul Sisters Sabbatical Retreat: A gathering designed to empower women through open discussions on family, health, and finances. Attendees left inspired to take practical steps toward stability and self-care, while forming new bonds and support systems.
  • Shoe Drive Fundraiser: Donations collected not only raised funds but also provided footwear to developing countries and individuals in need locally, a reminder that generosity can make an impact both near and far.
  • Lunches of Love: Hosted at First Central Tower in downtown St. Petersburg, this event exceeded all expectations. What began as a goal to prepare 200 lunches grew to over 750 meals, which were delivered to St. Vincent de Paul, their largest single-day meal donation. Local students even wrote handwritten notes of encouragement for each bag, adding a personal and heartfelt touch.

Looking Ahead

Sisters RISE in Unity continues to expand its outreach. Here are a few upcoming events:

  • Lunches of Love: December 4, 2025; and additional events planned for 2026
  • Soul Sisters Sabbatical: April 23-26, 2026, Sarasota, Florida
  • Toiletries for Tweens and Teens: To be determined

Drivers are especially needed to help deliver lunches for the upcoming Lunches of Love event.  Also, financial contributions would be appreciated to keep these causes funded.

At Covenant, we are honored to have played a small role at their first Lunches of Love event and look forward to supporting future initiatives that bring people together in service, compassion, and faith.
